Baby Boomers gain access to Sports Medicine Secrets from SEATA’s
2008 Professional Athletic Trainer of the Year, Mike Ryan
Training and rehabilitation techniques formally reserved for professional athletes could be the answer to what is slowing you down — or worse — stopping you from leading the active daily life you desire. My name is Mike Ryan and I am a 46 year old Baby Boomer. For over 20 years I have worked in the Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Field as a Licensed Athletic Trainer and Registered Physical Therapist working with some of the World’s Top Athletes in the world of professional football on a full-time basis. Also a devout athlete, I have competed in 100’s of athletic endeavors from Ironman Triathlons to the Empire State Building Run-ups and other challenging activities. As I grow older, I, like most, experience aches and pains, but wish to — and plan to — continue the activities which are so much a part of my lifestyle. I developed this Web site because I know the state of the art methods I use, previously reserved for elite athletes, can help Baby Boomers continue to be very active and physically fit well into their retirement years! Sports Medicine Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer, Mike Ryan answers your personal questions...
Doug T. -
I love your sports medicine info and I'm excited to see the new changes. I'm trying to get back in shape for the summer and I'm having ongoing knee pain that never seems to go away. The pain is mostly below my kneecap and it hurts when I move my knee after sitting for a prolonged period of time in a movie or on a plane. I'm 42 years old but this is making me feel like I'm 80 years old! What can I do?? Thanks for your help.
