Hello,
The other day I heard the average person lives a 46 hour day.
How is this so? I know one way I do it.
I take a short-cut when I train. Funny thing is...I'm training harder than I ever have in my life. But this short-cut allows me to accomplish three times as much with only half the effort. Imagine if you could do that with your workouts too? Like me, you probably find that you seem to get busier and busier as the days go by. And while staying active and continuing to participate in the activities you love are a priority...it gets more and more difficult with the demands of work , family and personal commitments piling up. I've also found the real problem: I'm not getting paid to do triathlons, road races and Mud runs. Therefore I had to find a way to accomplish more in less time. A short-cut if you will. Here's what I figured out: While I've competed in 5 Ironman Triathlons before, I am by no means an expert on training for them. So I contacted a friend of mine--an elite amateur Triathlete--Mike Llerandi. Mike works closely with his brother and former professional Triathlete, Nate Llerandi. The Llerandis have been coaching athletes for over 18 years working with beginners all the way up to seasoned professionals. They work with anyone from cyclists to runners to duathletes...and of course Ironman Triathletes. By hiring Mike & Nate, I had found my shortcut. They give me a workout that is three times as effective with only half the effort. Here's how: I give Mike & Nate my... · Schedule for the week--constraints, commitments, & when I'm available to train · My strengths and weaknesses as an athlete · Areas of fitness and athletic performance that I want to improve · Goal for my upcoming athletic events (in this case the Ironman Triathlon in Austria) And in return, Mike & Nate give me a completely customized workout which I download and follow. Not only that, in areas where I struggle--like specific nutritional intake during a 10+ hour Ironman Triathlon-- they connect me to the right expert so I will succeed. The best part is by paying a little extra to apply an expert's specialty...I enjoy the process so much more. I know I am progressing in the proper manner with the EXACT workouts I need, taking the proper amount of recovery time and making the most of the workout time I do have. You probably already do this in other areas of your life...hire experts to get things done better and faster, making your life easier. For example you probably have hired skilled experts such as painters, maids, landscapers and personal trainers to assist you with "projects." Sure you could do it yourself, but if you did...would you have been as happy with the results? By spending a little money to utilize an expert, you get it done three times as fast, with considerably less effort on your part and you are usually much happier with the results. Do this with your workouts too and you will find you are getting much better results with half the effort. I guarantee your athletic activities will be far more pleasurable as a result of working WITH experts. And if you are looking for no cost resources for training, check out Nate and Mike's Web site at www.opentri.com . A new social networking site completely open to the public for the multi-sport world, the site contains forums, complimentary SuperCoach Network training programs (that hundreds of triathletes from around the world have been using with great success to get ready for races) and more. There is also an OpenTri Premium
coaching service available for a fee, where athletes can receive more
focused guidance and support toward specific races in their calendar.
With Healthy Regards,
