Subject: Sports Medicine—not just for the Prime Time Athlete Anymore

Hello,

Today, I want to invite you to break through some of the barriers and unknowns that may be keeping you from using Sports Medicine to your full advantage.

 Let me start with a big one. 

Is Sports Medicine only for the Professional Athlete?  Absolutely not!  Until now, the elite athlete was the only one privy to such care.  Everyone else was forced to "fend for themselves" as they did their best to find an answer to their medical problems. 

But the truth is, anyone that performs any type of exercise--be it competitively or recreationally--is an athlete.  And they deserve the high level of care normally reserved for athletes at the professional level or within a collegiate setting. 

Will Sports Medicine work for you? In the past I've mentioned older athletes competing--some even in their 80's and 90's.  Is it because they've never had any injuries?  No! Not unless they were extremely unusual.

In most cases, it's because they have benefitted from the implementation of Sports Medicine techniques that I utilize on a daily basis with world-class athletes.  

 It's why professional athletic teams hire Sports Medicine Experts to work with their teams.  And it's how YOU too can learn to stay active for many, many years.

How can it help you stay active? We would all wish for a long and happy life free from illness and injuries. The reality is--we tend to push our bodies higher, further, harder, faster, and longer than nature might have intended.

Don't get me wrong. The human body was made to move--and activity is a good thing if you are treating your body properly--before, during and after the activity.

Injuries that result from not treating your body properly, while not always catastrophic, can limit your ability to perform at the level you think you should be able to. Sports Medicine helps you to exercise and move without pain and without limitation to your own personal potential.

Having said that, it is important to note that even minor aches or pains should be treated.  The longer these go untreated, the more likely they are to cause catastrophic injuries in the future.
